Fibers to love! I source spinning fiber from all over the United States and beyond, selecting fiber with a variety of characteristics. I hand dye the fibers in small batches before spinning, using a rainbow dye method. I add multiple colors of acid dye to the dye pot-- usually between two and five colors at a time! The fiber is not agitated, resulting in color variation within the dye pot. My colorways are inspired by nature (and mermaids!).
Home spun yarns
Unique yarns, ready to create! My yarns are spun with care in my home, which is smoke and pet free. For years I spun on a double treadle Ashford Joy (which I loved for its portability), but I have recently switched to a Kromski Minstrel. Despite some growing pains I am now up and running on my new wheel. My yarns range in weight from 14 wraps per inch (sport weight) and up. They are generally two ply smooth, uniform yarns made for knitting or crocheting.
